King Kong of Skull Island VR- Dragon Bat Creature

King Kong of Skull Island VR was a multidiscipline team effort. Concepts inspired by Joe Devito in the creation of Skull Island.

My role was to create a unique creature that would fit in on Skull Island. I collaborated with the Lead character artist, received concept art, and gathered references. I then blocked out the main shape of the creature to get a feel for how it would look in a 3D space. Once approved, I continued with a 3D high-resolution sculpture that would be cleaned and optimized. Then I'd finish the asset with complete textures and ensure the creature is solid before handing it off to the animator.
I even put the creature mesh into the engine and ensured the materials matched the quality needed.
